The Hobbit An Unexpected Journey trailer and release date

The Hobbit An Unexpected Journey trailer and release date
Owww feel the heat of the dragons breath. The rumble of Peter Jackons' tummy, twitch of Martin Freeman's feet and the strident beat of McKellen's big old stick, because it's coming. The precious reintroduction of Tolkien's fantastical imagination to the big screen in The Hobbit An Unexpected Journey has been confirmed for 2012 and the trailer has just arrived.

With a release date set for the 14th December 2012, The Hobbit is easily going to be one of the biggest releases of the year. Highly anticipated, especially after the sheer all encompassing might of The Lord of the Rings trilogy, the trailer for The Hobbit movie is entertainment all by itself, so the film should be epic.

Entertainment news

If you haven't guessed by now, Ian McKellen is back in the role of Gandalf and in a move that couldn't be bested if they'd recreated Bilbo Baggins in a secret quarter of the Willy Wonker chocolate factory out of the remains of well meaning Umpa Lumpas, they've also got Martin Freeman in the leading role.

The Hobbit An Unexpected Journey follows Bilbo Baggins on his first adventure with Gandalf to get a share of the treasure from the Dragon, Smaug. With Thorin and his swarm of dwarves they all set out to go there and back again without getting eaten, but inevitably the journey gets a bit squeaky bum at times, especially with the introduction of Gollum. If you haven't read the book already, you definitely should do.

With the legendary storyline of J.R.R. Tolkien behind it and the palpable popular mythology that Peter Jackson has already ignited in fantasy cinematography, The Hobbit An Unexpected Journey looks set to be a huge hit.
