Starring Justin Timberlake, who looks convincing (i.e. you don't keep expecting him to break out into a funked up dance to the tune of Sexy Back), and Cillian Murphy (the Scarecrow, Batman Begins), In Time is set in an imagined future where people need to buy time to stay alive. Though the concept seems a little floored in the outset, it appears to work well as an action packed thrill ride.
Will Salas (Timberlake) is struggling to make up more time, but when he's given more than he could ever need the system turns on him and he is forced to go on the run with a high stake hostage.
Thankfully, In Time doesn't appear to overdo the critique on our time stretched modern existence, but instead focuses on a new way to highlight the money divide of the wealthy and the poor. Delivering a slick, high octane distopian adventure that's stylistically sharp, high speed and packed with convincing performances, In Time looks like it's got a lot of potential.
