White Lies plan new album, Ritual

White Lies stamped a new mark on the British music scene in 2009 with the release of their debut album, To Lose My Life, which was the first album produced by a British band to go to number 1 in 2009. The second album, Ritual (read the review), is apparently finished now and set for release on 17th January 2011, so hopefully there’ll be more of the genius behind Death and From the Stars.

Produced by Alan Moulder who’s worked with Depeche Mode, Gary Newman and the Jesus and Mary Chain, it’s got a lot of potential behind it. The first single will be Bigger Than Us.

The first chance to hear Ritual will be at the London York Hall on November 22nd 2010. They’ve been out of the UK on tour for a while now, so on top of the album listen it’ll be be one of the first chances to see White Lies full stop.

As well as the London York Hall gig, they’re also set to play Picture House in Edinburgh on the 16th November, but then they’re off to Eastern Europe, so get tickets while you can. There’ll probably be lots of opportunities to see White Lies live in 2011 though.
