The Coral have produced a few of the most recognisable songs of the last decade, as well as recording four albums (with a mini one in between) from their debut with The Coral back in 2002. However, they have more than a few doubters. I remember an argument with an idiot in Vietnam in 2005 who pronounced that The Coral would disappear from the music industry and that they will probably never put out an album again.

The good news is that Butterfly House, the Merseysiders’ latest album, is due to be released on 12th July 2010 and the “idiot” is probably asphyxituggin’ his way through another random diatribe of bull that he hasn’t got a clue about.

The other good news is that the title track from the LP is available  as a free download from The Coral’s website (visit http://www.thecoral.co.uk/) if you want to give it a full listen.

Butterfly House is classic psych-folk-rock with sun drenched riffs. The talking in the background part-way through isn’t the best, but it’ll be a radio favourite for the summer, especially with their tour starting in July.  Read the full The Coral, Butterfly House album review.
