The prohibition-era drama epic Broadwalk Empire will be a big feature on the new channel, bringing together the might of Martin Scorsese’s directorial skills, Steve Buscemi in the lead character role, Nucky Thomson, and Stephen Graham (This is England 86) in a surprise casting as Al Capone.

Sky Atlantic will also bring old episodes of the likes of classic HBO television series The Sopranos, Six Feet Under and Entourage to your TV set. However, the prospect of premiers of new series of Entourage and Mad Men will probably have HBO fans more interested.

There will also be a number of debut shows for the UK, including comedies How To Make It In America and Weeds, along with Kate Winslet’s upcoming mini-series Mildred Pierce.

With so much on the go, Sky Atlantic looks set to be a big part of TV in 2011, especially with the addition of movies to its output. Sky Atlantic will be free to all existing Sky customers in the UK.
