Absolute Radio gets Wood
Ronnie Wood that is (insert canned laughter). Anyways, they’ve signed the old Rolling Stoner as the presenter on digital radio station Absolute Classic Rock.
Wittily entitled The Ronnie Wood Show, Ronnie will play his own choice of music and tell humorous stories about life in the Rolling Stones and beyond.
While I’ve fallen into the easy trap of taking the pea ice out of Wood, the reality is that I also think he’s a legend. As well as being part of The Byrds, The Jeff Beck Group and The Rolling Stones, his first solo album was entitled I’ve got my own album to do. If that isn’t Rock and Roll I don’t know what is.
On top of all that, and at the ripe old age of sixty two he’s still carrying the flame for the old school concept of rock n roll. In the last couple of years he’s had a string of youthful lady friends, including Katia Ivanovna and now a thirty year old, Brazilian architect student.
To catch up with his latest exploits and his music pics you can hear The Ronnie Wood Show on digital radio channel Absolute Classic Rock starting today (9th April 2010) at 6pm, before being repeated on the next day on Absolute Radio at 10pm.
