Despite the fact that it’s a small South East England chain, it still has a unique feel to the place with a bistro layout and some badass little lights over some of the tables for two. On top of that, the waiter seemed to know what he was talking about when we asked him about the food, so it gave Cote a really good vibe.
The food was good as well, with classic French dishes alongside a host of lighter option. The Pissaladière (cheesy, onion topped bread) starter was OK, but nothing compared to the moules frites that I had or the coq ou vin that my girlfriend had. The big find of the night was Kasteel Cru champagne lager made with champagne yeast, whatever that is. Tis the shizz.
On top of that, the pud (chocolate fondante and vanilla ice cream) was ace with a couple of cafe au laittes topping off a good night at Côte in Soho.
