Bill Ryder-Jones, If...

Bill Ryder-Jones, If...
Former The Coral guitarist, Bill Ryder-Jones has just announced that he will be releasing his first solo album later this year on Domino Records. Bringing a new, more classically influenced sound to his recording the album, If… will be released on the 14th November 2011.

There's a real grown up quality to the likes of Give Me a Name, one of the first tracks available to listen to from the album. Influences to the production include modern cinema scores to the likes of The Wrestler and Black Swan as well as Nick Cave and Gorky's Zygotic Mynci.

Recorded in the Scandinavian Church and Elevator Studios in Liverpool (plus his mum's house apparently), If… gets a big hit of orchestral sound from  the Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, which I would have loved to have seen crammed into his mum's back kitchen.

If… tracklisting has been confirmed as:

1. If…

2. The Reader (Malbork)

3. Leaning (Star Of Sweden)

4. By The Church Of Apollonia

5. Le Grand Desordre

6. Enlace

7. Intersect

8. The Flowers #3 (Lotus)

9. Give Me A Name

10. Some Absolute End (The End)
