Anna Calvi, Desire single release

Anna Calvi
After the critically acclaimed release of her self titled debut album back in January, Anna Calvi is about to release the second single from the album, Desire. Out on the 20th June 2011 on Domino Records, the single will be available on 7" and download and if her earlier songs are anything to go by it should be a shot of intense, abstract class that sounds like nothing else out there right now

To accompany Desire, Anna Calvi has reworked Leonard Cohen's 1971 single Joan of Arc. The single release confirms the growing brilliance of Calvi who's mix of guitar playing genius and operatically influenced vocal have seen her sell put shows, headlining tours and nominated for the BBC's Sound of 2011 poll.

Anna will also be playing Desire live at her headline show at Koko in London on the 17th May 2011. She's also on the bill with Arctic Monkeys at the Don Valley Bowl on the 11th June, as well as playing the Meltdown Festival (16th June) Glastonbury (25th June), Latitude (17th July) and Field Day Festival (6th August).

If the videos for I’ll Be Your Man and Joan of Arc from her Attic Sessions are anything to go by, Desire should be impressive too.
