With tickets selling out in minutes for the majority of Arctic Monkeys gigs since their explosion to musical brilliance back in 2006, you’re going to have to hot foot it in 2011 to be in with a chance of getting a ticket. They have already confirmed most of their live gig performances in 2011 and they’re all on the big side.
With a follow-up album to Humbug release earlier this year (Suck it and See), there’s bound to be lots of opportunities to see them in 2011, but with the speed that their tickets go it’s still going to be a bit of a lottery.
Tickets for Arctic Monkeys’ UK 2011 tour go on Friday the 17th of June at 9am.
Dates are as follows:
Friday 28th October Nottingham Capital FM Arena
Saturday 29th October London The O2 Arena
Tuesday 1st November Cardiff Motorpoint Arena
Wednesday 2nd November Manchester MEN Arena
Friday 4th November Birmingham LG Arena
Saturday 5th November Newcastle Metro Radio Arena
Sunday 6th November Aberdeen AECC
Tuesday 8th November Glasgow SECC Hall 4
Wednesday 9th November Liverpool Echo Arena
However, these will probably sell out quickly, so your best bet would be to get tickets for one of their European festival gigs. Here’s a quick run down:
Arctic Monkeys Benicassim 2011
First up, the Arctic Monkeys have recently announced that they’ll be headlining Benicassim (July 2011), in Spain. Tickets are £160, including 4 days camping and the chance to see Arcade Fire, The Strokes and Primal Scream.
Arctic Monkeys Oxygen Festival 2011
They’ve also announced that they’ll be doing Oxygen (won’t we all, hah), 7th to the 10th July 2011, over in Ireland. You’ll also be able to see Foo Fighters, Blink 182 (Miss You, Miss You) and Paulo Nutini (you can’t win them all) for the combined price of €224.50.
Arctic Monkeys Hurricane/Southside Festivals 2011
The Hurricane/ Southside festivals will be the Arctic Monkeys’ German headline instalment between 17th to the 19th June. Foo Fighters, Arcade Fire, Blink-182 and the Chemical Brothers will also be there, probably playing some music. Tickets are in the region of €130, but the websites are a bit confusing so good luck with that.
Arctic Monkeys Rock A Field Festival 2011
If you’ve never been to Luxembourg here’s your chance. Arctic Monkeys are set to headline the festival on Sunday 26th June. It’s another Arcade Fire, Blink-182 combo with a bit of Elbow thrown in for good measure. Tickets are around €70.
Arctic Monkeys Rock Werchter 2011
This ones in Belguique and sees Arctic Monkeys take the stage with the likes of PJ Harvey, KOL and The Chemical Brothers. A 4 day combi camping ticket will set you back in the region of €195, but you’ll also be as close to the heart of waffle country as you possibly can, so...
Arctic Monkeys Eurokennes 2011
The Monkeys headline the Franch festival on the 3rd July, along with performances from house of Pain and Arcade Fire. The website int great and it’s in French, so not entirely sure what the deal is, but it looks like the tickets are in the region €100.
Arctic Monkeys Super Bock Super Rock Festival 2011
Super Bock Super Rock Festival sees Arctic Monkeys hit Portugal on 14th, 15th and 16th July 2011. Tickets are just €80, so arguably the cheapest option out at the moment with performances from The Strokes and Beirut thrown in for good measure.
