Steve Coogan confirms Alan Partridge the movie

Dan... Dan... Dan! Dan! Alan Partridge has been confirmed for the  silver screen, with Steve Coogan finalising the deal to bring his legendary character to the movies.

Though not yet written, Alan Partridge: The Movie (working title) will go into production in the summer of 2010 - hopefully incorporating the plot that has long been covered up regarding giant chickens and maniacal, gene manipulating farmers.

Coogan has also revealed that the storyline will be set in America, which could work really well considering the Tex episode, which ended on the amazing James Bond “ooh a bit o’ bush”, The Spy Who Loved me intro retelling.

The most important bit of news is that the character will not be undergoing a The Office style Americanisation.

2011 is the likely release date for the return of Alan Partridge, which is a gap of 9 years since the 2002 second series.

Kiss my face.
