Underneath my harsh exterior and affected cool (erh), I'm genuinely a science dork (I got called a dork in work today in fact - curse you Steph - but it's not a regular occurrence, so I don't consider it harassment). Look at the evidence; I just finished reading The Selfish Gene by Richard Dawkins, when I was a kid I used to happily watch Star Trek The Next Generation (Gawd bless ya Jean Luke) and my favourite American sitcom is The Big Bang Theory.

Admittedly the interview above doesn’t do the show justice, but honestly it is funny. Series 3 has just finished brilliantly on Channel 4, so I assume Sheldon (John Parsons) and Wolawitz fans are going Big Bang Theory cold turkey at the moment, but the DVD was released on the 27th September, so you need shake violently no longer.
If you missed it on TV, the third series features Penny (Kaley Cuoco) and Leonard (Johnny Gelaki) bumping uglies (just to clarify, you don't see any uglies being bumped, but it's definitely implied in the narrative), the story of how Leonard and Sheldon met (with the story of the broken lift as a subplot) and another encounter with the dastardly Will Wheaton.
The Big Bang Theory Series 3 DVD will be a 3 disc box set including all of the 23 episodes, as well as a set tour with Simon Helberg (a.k.a. Howard Wolowitz) and Kunal Nayyar (Rajesh Koothrappoli) and a gag reel. Series 3 will also be released on Blu-ray as a 2 disc box set.
