Resident Evil Revelations 3DS

Resident Evil Revelations 3DS
If the news of Metal Gear Solid Snake Eater 3D wasn't enough then the upcoming Resident Evil Revelation 3DS game should confirm the Nintendo 3DS's place in serious gaming history. The second third person shooter to arrive on the hand held, RER 3DS brings the fear factor to the palm of your hand.

There's not many games out there that you can play in the dark of the night underneath your covers, but Resident Evil Revelations will make it so that there's nowhere to run and nowhere to hide from the video game nasties (unless you turn the game off, put your Nintendo 3DS down and go watch My Little Ponies that is).

Entertainment news

The game has been build specifically for the 3DS, so it's bound to have 3D atmospherics in abundance. The all new storyline follows BSAA agents Parker Lciani and Jill Valentine on a mission to find Chris Redfield on an abandoned cruise ship out in open waters. Inevitably, there's a killer biohazard standing in their way and they have to shoot their way out with the help of clues, puzzles and the all new underwater feature. But by the looks of the trailer, Chris isn't even on the ship.

The fact that you can switch between 3rd person and 1st person shooter styles means that you'll be able to switch between them based on the situation in the game.

With a release date of the 27th January 2012, Resident Evil looks like it's the first big release for the Nintendo 3DS for 2012. With the likes of Super Mario 3D Land and Mario Kart 7 hitting the shops over Christmas, and Metal Gear Solid planned for next spring, 2012 could be a big year for 3DS games. Especially with the end of the Xbox 360, PS3 and Nintendo Wii on its way.
