PSP applications

The concept of PSP applications similar to those found on smart phone devices like the iPhone is gathering momentum. With the gaming angle already cornered, Sony are making it increasingly easy for companies to develop mini PSP applications, expanding the realms of the device.

Obviously the main focus of the PSP applications will be games, and these are now available from the Sony Playstation online store in their MiniS range. The games are downloadable titles with a software file size limit of 100MB and once you’ve downloaded them once, you’ll be able to play them either on your PSP or your Sony Playstation 3. Obviously, they’re a lot cheaper than standard titles, but they won’t have the same depth or visual quality as standard titles.

On top of the MiniS range, Sony has also recently released it’s digital comics reader PSP application. You can download the free reader at the Sony Playstation store. Comics include Wolverine, We kill monsters, Transformers and a whole lot more. The catalogue is growing every week and the AutoFlow function means that you can follow the story easily as it was written or zoom in where you want.
