Sony Playstation 3 network error 8001050F

Despite the fact that the error that caused Playstation 3 consoles to stop working last night was confined to just a selection of consoles, the glitch must come as good news for the guys at Microsoft Xbox. The “8001050F” error meant that users couldn’t access information stored on the Playstation network.

This meant that a number of games couldn’t be played online, which has frustrated gamers into the night. It’s not just the Playstation Network games that were affected either; retail titles also came under the shadow of the “8001050F” network error too.

According to Sony Playstation EU, the problem is caused by a bug in the clock functionality of the system and has meant that accessing info on the network results in the “8001050F” fault.

Apparently they’re working on the problem and hope to have it fixed in the next 24hrs, but in the mean time it’s a case of sit tight and hope the cold turkey sweats don’t get too strong. For all the Xbox and Wii gamers, you can smile your smug, chubby asses off, sit back and relax with online fun (that’s not a euphemism for porn by the way).
