The Wildlife Photographer of the Year 2011

All the judging is complete and The Wildlife Photographer of the Year 2011 exhibition is just about to open at the Natural History Museum once again. A must see, the exhibition brings together a brilliant collection of wildlife images from around the world and from all walks of life.

As with every year there is a selection of categories for the winning photography, ranging from special awards to the junior section where you can wonder why your parents didn't put a Sony Powershot in your mitts when you were four.

The imagery is always awe inspiring and one of the best bits is getting a few postcards from the shop afterwards of your own personal favourites.

The exhibition opens on the 21st October 2011 and runs through to the 11th March 2012. Tickets are £9 for adults, £4.50 for children and concessions, £24 for the family option and free to members, patrons and children ages 3 years and under.

The competition for the 2012 Wildlife Photographer of the Year will be kick starting again, so make sure you keep your camera handy whenever you head out into wildlife territory.
