Ranging across seven categories – Graphics, Architecture, Digital, Fashion, Furniture, Product and Transport – the Design Awards exhibition 2012 will include some the best new designs from around the world.
Designs of particular note include the Spaceport America and the London 2012 Velodrome in the Architecture section, as well as contentiously including the new BBC homepage design in the Digital category. However, the Beeb’s homepage is bound to get crushed to oblivion by the might of the Microsoft Kinect.
The fashion section includes the Duchess of Cambridge’s Wedding Dress by Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen and Vivienne Westwood’s Ethical Fashion Africa Collection Autumn/Winter ’11. However, they’ll both has tough competition in the brilliant Mary Katrantzou, Autumn/Winter ’11 and the incredibly stylish 132 5. by Issey Miyake.
The Design Museum’s Design Awards 2012 exhibition will be on display until the 15th July 2012. Ticket prices range between £6 for students and £11 for adults with a donation to the Museum. Find out more at:
