To add to the pace - and perhaps detract from the disappointment of not seeing the epic battle of Street Fighter characters pitched against Tekken tough nuts like King and Yoshimitsu in awe inspiring 3D - the game has also added a tag function. This looks like it adds one hell of a lot of scope for beastie combo moves, especially the ones that give you a 2 vs 1 advantage.
There are also a few new characters like the collossus Hugo and the trashy looking Poisen (seen previously in the Final Fight series). However, there are also a few omissions in terms of characters by the looks of things with the likes of Marshall Law, Jack and Lei Wulong not featuring int he game.
Street Fighter X Tekken seems to be a great addition to the legacy of the two franchises. However, a full character rostered Tekken X Street Fighter, or even viseversa, would have been much more hard hitting. Despite that, the tag function definitely reinvents the Street Fighter fight engine to give it a whole new set of fighting options. Good news for anyone with a Street Fighter arcade joystick!
Street Fighter X Tekken has a release date of the 1st March 2012 in the UK.

Though Street Fighter X Tekken is fundamentally based on the original Street Fighter II side-scrolling 2D action, there's a real unique look and feel to the new game. Taking Japanese anime animation techniques, the guys at Capcom have produced something that looks slick and fresh.
