Batman Live, O2 Arena

Batman hasn't been as ace as it is now since Michael Keaton hit on Kim Basinger, but with it's new style you've got to expect a lot of a live production of Batman. With the long history of DC Comics, the legacy of Heath Ledger as Joker and the third part of the Batman Begins trilogy building in the wings, you've got to say that Batman Live will either go all out to live up to its forebears or it will be a lame money spinning production that simply cashes i on the re-found might of the Batman story.

The production of Batman Live couldn't ask for a bigger stage than the O2 Arena, so it'll have more than enough room to deliver something special. It's being produced by Warner Bros. Consumer Products and DC Entertainment, so it'll have big gun backing to make it special, so if it turns out to be a bit of a turkey, they'll have no one to blame but themselves.

Batman Live opens on the 29th August 2011 and runs through to the 4th September 2011, so there's a tight window of opportunity to see it. Tickets are a reasonable £20 to £35.

The production is based on a newly written storyline with a heavy focus on the introduction of Batman to Robin. They're going all out on the villain count too with The Joker, the Riddler, Catwomen and The Penguin all putting in a showing.

Batman Live is part of a world arena tour, which also features the following UK shows:
