The final act of the 19-year saga arrived in UK cinemas recently with X-Men: Dark Phoenix. With such a fan-favourite story arc there was, as ever, a lot of pressure on the production to live up to expectations. The DVD, Blu-ray, iTunes, Xbox ONE, PS4, and Amazon digital release date will be a little further down the road for anyone looking to complete their collection, but you can see more details on this in the section below.
The reviews of the cinema release haven’t necessarily been all that kind, which isn’t a great indicator for its potential home entertainment impact. Although, in all fairness, mixed reviews for Godzilla King Of The Monsters didn’t top it taking the #1 spot.
As the last entry in the series – and the last X-Men film we’re likely to get in a long while – it should be a must-buy on DVD, Blu-ray or digital for hardcore fans of the Marvel stories, despite the reviews. The series isn’t without its previous question marks though, with The Last Stand and Apocalypse picking up weaker reviews than the rest of the films too, so maybe Dark Phoenix will just ride the storm.
UK DVD, Blu-ray, iTunes, Xbox ONE, PS4, Amazon and digital download release date
With the cinema release date in early June, X-Men Dark Phoenix will be out in the UK on DVD, Blu-ray, iTunes, Xbox ONE, PS4, Amazon and other digital download services in October 2019. The timing is pretty good for Christmas, so it’ll be on a fair few wish lists ahead of Santa’s next big outing. As ever, it should be available a little earlier on iTunes to buy than on DVD or Bly-ray.
If you’re looking to rent the film for the family when it comes out or if you miss it on the big screen, it’ll be available to rent as the same time as the physical copies of the film.
In addition to DVD and Blu-ray, it’ll also be available in 4K and 3D Blu-ray if other recent Marvel releases are anything to go by and you can pre-order the film below:

The X-Men Dark Phoenix UK cinema release date was Wednesday the 5th June, and it follows hot on the heals of Avengers Endgame. It’s out a couple of days later in the US on the 7th.
We’re not expecting it to get as big a haul at the box office as Endgame, but it should be up there with the popularity of the recent films in the series, so it’s bound to take the #1 spot. Its next big contender is Men In Black International, which touches down a week later.
