If the arrival of Man Of Steel and Batman Vs. Superman: Dawn Of Justice haven’t necessarily raised the stakes in the comic book cinematic universe battle, things are about to get much more punchy with the arrival of both the Wonder Woman (2017) trailer and a little snippet of Justice League from DC Comics. In all fairness, we’re probably more excited by the look of the former rather than the latter, but when you get a two-for-one, it’s probably worth giving them both at least a little nod.
You can check out the footage for each of the vids below, but to cut a long story short, Wonder Women looks like it’s literally going to be the mama pajamba, shizznits and bazoo all wrapped up in one very well crafted package with Gal Gadot taking the lead. The Justice League teaser doesn’t look bad as such, but it doesn’t quite hit the same high and resounding golden note that rings off when the bullets are bouncing in ever direction from the pristine brilliance of Princess Diana of Themyscira’s shield.
Much in the same way that EA Games has reinvented modern day first person shooters by setting its next title, Battlefield 1, between 1914 and 1918, the Amazonian demigod’s origin story (as part of the new wave of DC movies) will largely be set during World War I. When we first heard that this might be the case, we were a little skeptical, but from the look of the trailer it looks like it’s going to work incredibly well.
The juxtaposition of the character within that time line is impressive and the delivery of her fighting features, including the epic golden Lasso of Truth, is awe inspiring to say the least. It’s an action-packed trailer, which should mean it’s going to be a thunderous movie when it arrives in June 2017. Wonder Woman’s relationship with Chris Pine’s character appears to be a big part of the story too, but we’re bettings things are going to get bitter sweet before the credits roll next year (sad song), because we already know that Diana Prince is still alive and well in the modern day following her debut in Batman Vs. Superman: Dawn Of Justice. However, the most important thing is that the film adds to merits of Suicide Squad to become the second new-wave DC movies that we can’t wait to see on the big screen.

Wonder Woman (2017) trailer:
The Justice League footage, however, is a little more subdued, and focuses on Batman’s hunt to pull together a crack team of powerful allies to fight against a dangerous foe. On a cooler note, it does tease a little more of an introduction for The Flash, Cyborg and Aquaman, following their cameos in Dawn Of Justice and both look like they’ve got the potential to be good additions to the canon.
If we were being super cynical, we might be inclined to note the similarities between the comedy and age of The Flash in the trailer below with that of the character of Quicksilver in X-Men Days Of Future Past, but we’re going to let it slide based on the cool delivery of the scene. The Flash is played by Ezra Miller, who will be starring in Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them later this year, Ray Fisher stars as Cyborg and Aquaman is taken by Jason Mamoa of Game Of Thrones fame.
