The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe, Threesixty Theatre

The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe, Threesixty Theatre TentIt’s a genuine classic and it returned to the London stage in the summer of 2012. The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe opened at the Threesixty Theatre Tent in Kensington Gardens on Tuesday the 8th May with a new production that ran until Sunday the 9th September 2012, creating an atmospheric live theatre show for the C.S. Lewis story.

With the production skills might of the Threesixty team that brought Peter Pan so magically to life, The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe looked set to be one of the smash hit shows of the summer. Using fantastical stage sets, props and effects, the impressive production aimed to recreate the magic and flare for storytelling at the heart of Narnia.

With it’s setting in Kensington Gardens and the promise of 360 degree projector powered sets around the Threesixty Theatre Tent, the show is was a breathtaking performance to watch. While the story could work on smaller stages, the reality is that The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe needs space to really come alive.

If somehow you don’t know the story already, it follows World War II children evacuee brothers and sisters, Peter, Susan, Edmund and Lucy Prevensie. They manage to find a path into a magical land called Narnia through the wardrobe in the Professor’s house that they are sent to live in. As the story unfolds a big talking lion and wintery witch adventure ensues.

Tickets for The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe at the Threesixty Theatre Tent started at £25, but the higher end tickets had a £60 top price mark to get closer to the action. You could probably smell Aslan’s mane with them!
