The Lion King hits Manchester

The Lion King, ManchesterMaaaaa jewaynya… The Lion King, comes to… Manchester… Setummmwahh heyhey ha! It’s been all over the world, London to New York and Las Vegas, but finally the Manchunian wait to watch the Lion King in their own back garden is finally over.

Opening at the Palace Theatre on the 30th November, the Disney production is scheduled to run until the 31st March 2012. The amazing cast, costumes and scenery that have made The Lion King such a visual spectacle over the years will be spending winter in Manchester this year.

Ticket prices range from £20 to £32.50 for the cheapest seats in The Palace Theatre’s Grand Tier and £38.50 to £52.50 for the Stalls and Circle during the Tuesday to Thursday performances. Prices go up by about £2.50 for performances between Friday and Sunday.

Apparently the show isn’t suitable for under 6 year olds and children under 3 aren’t allowed in (it gets pretty sad when Mufasa dies, plus the stampede and hyenas are scary, so it’s understandable).

The Lion King at the Palace Theatre, Manchester has a run time of 2.5 hours including the interval with performances at 7:30pm Tuesday to Saturday and 2:30pm matinee performances on Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday.
