If you’re looking to find out where to find diamonds in The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom we’ve got a number of options for you. This should help you to add the rare material to your inventory and to make the most of the TotK duplication glitch while it’s still around.
Whether you want to complete the Boulder Breaker challenge or you just want to give yourself a good chunk of rupees from selling diamonds, we’ve got you covered. You can use it to give you a strong Fuse item to attach to weapons, but this probably isn’t the best use of the resource and there are better options with Silver Lynel parts being your best option.
AdvertisementAs mentioned above, there are a number of different methods to find diamonds, so we’ll start with the easiest to pick up early in the game. We’ll then cover some of the things you can do later in TotK to get even more on a regular basis.

Where to find diamonds early in TotK
As diamonds are some of the rarest materials in TotK, they’re just not lying around anywhere when you first start the game. You just don’t need them in The Great Sky Island, but when you get down to Hyrule after the introduction they will be useful with all of the shops to buy armor from.
However, you don’t hear mention of diamonds until you get to Goron City as part of the regional Phenomena investigation there. If you talk to the blacksmith, Rohan, who has a half finished Boulder Breaker behind him, he tells you that his apprentice has abandoned him, but you can get him back once you fix things in the region.

To do this, you just need to visit Yunobu Co, and bring the boss to his senses as part of the story progression in The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom. This will then lead you to Moragia, the Death Mountain Chasm and the Fire Temple. Once you complete all of these, the apprentice will kick his Rock Roast habit and return to work, telling you he needs a Cobble Crusher, a diamond and flint to finish the Boulder Breaker.
The good news is that after you complete the Fire Temple, Yunobu Co will switch back to selling rare gems and you’ll be able to buy a diamond from the vendor in Goron City. The down side to this is that they retail for 1,000 rupees, which is pretty expensive considering the fact that you can only sell them in shops for 500.
If you’ve got the funds then it’s an easy win to get the Boulder Breaker, which is one of TotK’s best weapons with an attack power of 38 before you Fuse anything to it. Attach it to Silver Lynel Saber Horn and you can take that up to 93, which will do a lot of damage and could help you on the way to the final boss fight.
There is an alternative, though. The downside is that it’s time consuming, but the fact that Yunobu Co can get its hands on diamonds should be a big hint that you can too. You just need to find Rare Ore Deposit and the it’s at its most abundant around the Eldin region, so you’ll be in the right place.
AdvertisementIf you follow the Robbie quests, you’ll be able to add the Sensor+ to the Purah Pad, which will make finding them a lot easier. There’s a good amount of them around Death Mountain, so you can fast travel to the shrine at the top where the Moragia boss fight takes place, leap off and follow the beeps from the sensor when they start.

Robbie will tell you how the sensor work, but just remember that you’ll need to photograph at least one Rare Ore Deposit for it to appear in your compendium. You can just buy all of the Treasure compendium entries from Robbie, though, to speed this up.
Once you have this, you can set it as the target for the Sensor+ in the Hyrule Compendium tab, two to the right of the Map. The down side is that it will take a fair few Rare Ore Deposits to pick up a diamond, but there will always be some stone in it, so expect to find rubies, opal, topaz and amber, so it’s worth the effort.
With this method we were able to get two diamonds in about ten Rare Ore Deposits. You should be able to accomplish this with around 30-minutes of playtime in The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom and with all the other gems you get it’s worth the effort.
Where to find diamonds later on in TotK
AdvertisementAs you progress to some of the harder to reach areas of The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom, you’ll get some additional places where you can find diamonds. One of the best is the Rauru’s Blessing shrines that you can find that just give you the blessing and a chest like the Joku-U Shrine on Dragonhead Island.
This one contains a diamond for free and you can find it in the skies above Faron to the south of the Popla Foothills Skyview Tower. You go here as part of a main quest after you’ve dealt with all of the Regional Phenomena, and it’s this area that will also unlock the duplication glitch that works in TotK version 1.1.2. You’ll then need to take on the Construct Factory, but you can start duplicating as soon as you get access to Tobios Hollow.

With this, you can take your small supply of diamonds and turn them into a wealth of riches to boost your rupee supply. However, you also need a Lynel bow to be able to shoot multiple arrows at a time, so you might want to check out our guide to where to find Majora’s Mask and how to defeat the last Lynel in the arena.
This will give you five Lynels to fight in a row and they’re progressively more difficult, building up to the Silver Lynel for the last one. It’s a challenge, but with the two guides above you should be able to complete the arena to get five bows, which will give you lots of duplication options.
