The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom Rito Village Bridge

The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom Rito Village Bridge

If you’ve made it to the Rito Village Bridge in The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom then you might be wondering how to fix it. It’s far from the only way to get into Rito Village, but it does look a whole lot better once you’ve got the bridge back up and running.

As you’re recommended to visit Hebra and Rito Village as one of the first things to do in TotK when you get down to Lookout Landing from The Great Sky Island you’ve probably come across the bridge fairly early. The blizzard-like conditions of the regional phenomena in the area mean that visibility is pretty poor.

However, passing through this way will also give you the Clover Gazette to add to your side quests. It’s set back a little from the Rito Village bridge and it’s the newspaper service that runs throughout Hyrule, giving you a lot of cool tasks to complete.

How to unlock the Rito Village bridge quest?

As mentioned above, when you first get to to the Rito Village bridge, Hebra will be a frosty blizzard state and the location will look pretty bare. However, you know that you need to get into the village and you might think that the bridge is the solution.

There’s a lot going on in the area with the Clover Gazette set back from it and with the low visibility it’s easy to get tunnel vision. Instead of focusing on the bridge, though, you actually need to find another way to get into Rito Village to complete the first of the regional phenomena.

In fact, you can’t fix the bridge until you’ve cleared the blizzard, so if you haven’t done this yet then you’ll need to complete it to unlock the side quest. You can get over to the village by using the glider to make the jumps across the gap, but if you haven’t done that many shrines then you might be low on stamina and find it tough.

There are a couple of solutions to this, though. To start with you can head north of Rito Village to discover the Skyview Tower there, which you can use to get more height to glider your way into the village.

Alternatively, you can use throw Hylian pine cones into a fire to give it an updraft surge, which you can use to give you more height for the jumps across to Rito Village. If you’ve got a few bomb flowers, you can fuse them to your shield and shield surf jump to get a lift, so any of these can get you over the broken bridge.

From there you’ll need to track down Tulin of Rito Village, which you can see in the video below. This will also take you through how to complete the Wind Temple and defeating the boss that patrols it to clear the blizzard conditions and give you the bridge quest.

If you need it you can also use our guide to the Wind Temple with the link below, which will talk you through all of the puzzles. There are a series of locks to undo connected to the trap door in the center of it all and they can be a bit confusing.

The boss of the temple is Colgera and to defeat it you need to dive down through its weak ice points on its body avoiding its attacks. However, if you’re a good shot you can dive below it, go back into glider mode and shoot arrows through all three in one bullet-time move.

You might need some extra range on your arrows, though, but you can do this by fusing a Keese Wing to them. This will make them travel further without dipping to miss the weak spots, so you can speed on through the boss fight.

Once you complete the Wind Temple, you can then return to the first section of the Rito Village Bridge and you’ll find a couple of characters looking out over it. Juannelle and Gesane will then give you the quest you need to complete to get things fixed up in The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom.

Once you get the quest from the duo next to the Rito Village bridge, you need to travel back to Lookout Landing. Hit up a fast travel to the Skyview Tower and head towards the main entrance to the south of the shelter.

If you haven’t already done it, you’ll need to talk to the two characters next to the stables and then help Karson fix the roof. He’s the carpenter Juannelle and Gesane were talking about, so just use Ultrahand to put the plank in place and Karson will complete the stable for Lookout Landing.

Once he’s done that you can talk to him and ask him to head on over to the Rito Village bridge to take that on next. Fast travel back to the Shrine close to the bridge and you’ll find Karson there waiting for you.

He just needs twenty more pieces of wood, which you get in TotK from chopping down trees and chopping the logs. Once you’ve handed over the pieces of wood, Karson will fix the bridge and you’ll be able to saunter on over to Rito Village without needing to take out your glider.
