If you’ve just seen The Book of Boba Fett Episode 3 “The Streets of Mos Espa” then you might be wondering who the biker girl is. She’s the leader of the swoop bike gang that extortionate water trader Lortha Peel (played by Stephen Root) sends Boba after as part of his petition to the Daimyo of Tatooine, but there might be more to the character’s back story and lore than you realize.
When Fett goes to Mos Espa to investigate the disturbance that Lortha tells him about, he find the biker gang drinking water like its a delicious cocktail at a Caribbean shack bar. However, instead of dishing out the pain, he talks to the girl in charge (played by Sophie Thatcher, who you can find out more about below) and discovers that Lortha has over inflated his prices and there’s no jobs for them in the worker district.
AdvertisementHis solution is to hire them as part of his team, pay Lortha a more appropriate price for the water they took and tell him to stop over charging people for the resource, which is obviously rare on Tatooine. The leader and the rest of the biker gang then become integral to the plot of Episode 3, helping to fight Wookiee Black Krrsantan and chasing down the Mayor’s majordomo Twi’lek.
Is the biker girl Arden Lyn?
The biker girl is definitely one of the coolest new additions to The Book of Boba Fett and the character that she most resembles from the wider Star Wars story is Arden Lyn. However, there’s very little to support this from what we’ve seen of her fighting efforts in Episode 3, because Arden Lyn is historically a Dark Jedi, but apart from her cool eye makeup there’s nothing particularly dark or mystical about anything she’s done as of yet.
AdvertisementFighting Black Krrsantan she used a dagger to wound him and ended up being smashed to the floor by the big fellow. At no point did sh unleash a force choke to subdue him and instead she appears to be the same kind of augmented human as the rest of the swoop bike gang.
It was a similar story with the chase sequence with Lortha, although, it was her move to jump off a building and land on the escaping land speeder’s engine that ultimately stopped him. You could say that the move was Force-like in terms of skill, but looking at the rest of what has happened in The Book of Boba Fett that’s far from a conclusive argument.
AdvertisementHowever, Arden Lyn is a character that originates from the 1997 video game, Star Wars Masters of Teräs Käsi, which came out on the PlayStation 1 console. In it, she’s a powerful and ancient Dark Jedi with links to the Emperor, but a lot happens that is far from canon, so it’s possible that the biker girl in Episode 3 will take on this mantle with a brand new origin story.
Another possibility is that they stick with the story, but have Lyn hiding her abilities to save her from the gaze of the former Empire. That would mean all of her prior lore would stand and she’s just been keeping a low profile to stay alive in the wake of things not going so well with her old master Darth Sidious during Star Wars Masters of Teräs Käsi.
If that’s the case then there’s even more to get excited about her potential part in the rest of The Book of Boba Fett. Episode 3 closes out with an all-out war brewing with the Pyke Syndicate, so she might get pushed into using her Force abilities towards the end of Season 1, either to save herself or to save Boba, who appears to have given her new purpose.

Who is Sophie Thatcher?
The biker girl, who may or may not be Arden Lyn, is played by Sophie Thatcher and while she’s not necessarily a complete newcomer to the big or little screen, she isn’t exactly very well known. Her biggest role to date, outside of The Book of Boba Fett is as Young Natalie in the Showtime psychological drama, Yellowjackets, with Juliette Lewis playing her older self.
However, the biggest link to Boba Fett has got to be her performance in the 2018 sci-fi film, Prospect, which saw her starring as Cee in a story about mining gems on a mysterious alien moon. It it, her father is played by none other than The Mandalorian actor Pedro Pascal, which is the show that kick started it all for Boba and his tatooine crime book.
It’s possible that this connection helped Sophie Thatcher get the part in the Disney+ show and it’s going to be interesting to see how her character develops in the remaining episodes. She’s already landed with a big bang in Episode 3 and we’re betting that there’s a lot more to come from her and the show with war looming and Boba getting set to saddle up his pet monster Rancor before it’s all said and done.
We’ll update things here as more details are confirmed about Sophie Thatcher’s role as the biker girl and whether it’s Arden Lyn or not. You can also check out our TV news section to see other big releases, or visit the Disney+ website to see more on the show at https://www.disneyplus.com/.
