The Antlers have announced the release date for their ambitious new album, Undersea. With just four tracks on the record, it’s clear from the sound of the trailer that it’s going to be a sprawling wash with shades of Skying and , but will it live up to the impressive early vision.
Hailing from Brooklyn, New York, The Antlers’ latest album is their fifth and arguably their most unconventional with a higher soundscape in mind. On the back of 2011’s Burst Apart and the subsequent year on the road, Undersea brings the band back with a new direction in creativity, and hopefully their best album yet.
No surprises for anyone guessing that the title of Undersea is a theme for the album. In the words of The Antlers themselves, “It begins in the dream of a peaceful flood. Water covers everything and rises.”
The Antlers’ Undersea is scheduled with a release date of the 30th July on Transgressive Records.
