Terry Pratchett’s latest Discworld novel, Snuff, has been confirmed for paperback release on the 7th June 2012, just in time for sunshine reading. Pratchett’s 39th Discworld novel, and the 8th of the City Watch series, Snuff was released on hardback on the 13th October 2011 in the UK to massive success.
Trailing Commander Sam Vimes as he heads off on holiday with his wife Sybil , Snuff finds trouble for the family away from home. Dead bodies start to pile up and Vimes is left with little option but to get involved with the investigation.
As Snuff is set miles away from Ankh-Morpork, the rest of the city watch faithful don’t feature largely in the main storyline. However, The Crundells, The Vimes’ holiday destination of choice, does introduce the abhorrent presence of Lord Rusts’ son, so there’s some continuity with previous city watch stories.
Terry Pratchett’s Snuff paperback release is scheduled to have a retail price in the region of £7.99. If it sells as well as the hardback release, it’ll put Pratchett back to the top of the bestsellers charts where he often belongs.
