If you’ve ever wondered who would win in a fight, Raphael or Aquaman, the good news is that soon you’ll be able to answer the question over and over again with the reveal of The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles in the Injustice 2 Fight Pack 3 DLC. The pizza-loving amphibians will be joining the roster of playable characters in the next DLC launch from developers NetherRealm Studios.
There’s obviously going to be a lot of nostalgia for 90s kids that grew up with the TMNTs, but with the recent resurgence of the franchise in the Michael Bay movie, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out Of The Shadows, they’re getting a lot of limelight once again. Their addition to the Injustice 2 character list in the DLC pack should be well-received by both the old fans and newcomers to the characters.
However, there are a few caveats to take into account, as you the Turtles are down as one of the three playable characters in Fighter Pack 3. The details haven’t been laid out in detail as of yet, but with the line in the reveal trailer below with Leonardo telling Michelangelo that they “fight as a team”, it sounds like they’ll be working as one in some way.
We’ll know more when we get to see some gameplay footage, but we’re expecting it to feature some king of tag system, or automatic rotation of Turtles as you fight it out. Another option is that you get an individual Turtle to start with, and the others jump in with support moves to help you out, so we’ll keep you updated on the mechanics when they’re announced.
While the big news for Fighter Pack 3 is the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles cross-over, the add-on will also feature two new characters from DC annals. Both Atom and Enchantress will be joining the fray, and if you’re not too familiar with them, Atom is essentially DC’s equivalent to Ant-Man, and the Enchantress has magical, witch-like powers and you will have seen in action in the Suicide Squad film played by Cara Delevingne.
The trio of characters will join the likes of Justice League favoutires, Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Cyborg, Aquaman and The Flash. They also add to the previous two Fighter Packs, which have included crossover characters like Raiden and Sub-Zero from Mortal Kombat and Hellboy, along with other DC names like Black Manta, which adds to the Aquaman tie-in.
Atom will be the first of the characters from Fighter Pack 3 to arrive on Injustice 2, with a date scheduled for Early Access on the 12th December 2017. The Turtles and Enchantress will follow shortly afterwards, completing the last of the three planned expansion packs for the game.
