If you’ve been wondering whether or not Darth Vader is in Star Wars Jedi Survivor, the answer is yes and you can get some tips on how to beat him with the details below. He’s the toughest and without the notes below you might find yourself tearing your hear out in frustration, especially with high hard as nails final phase.
It’s a big step up on the final boss fight at the end of Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order when Darth Vader showed up to impale Trilla and scare the ponchos off Cal. You take control of Cere to fight him, so all of your skill efforts before this will count for nothing and you’ll have a new approach to get used to.
AdvertisementThe biggest factor is that you can’t just trigger Slow to get in enough damage on his stamina bar in the final phase. This means that you’ll need to duke it out a bit more and get uses to the process of parry and evade if you want to get the job done in style.

How to defeat Darth Vader
With Dagan Gera down and the game still going on, it becomes clear that there’s more to Star Wars Jedi Survivor than the High Republic Jedi story arc. A twist in the plot means that you end up battling against an attack on the archive at Jedha and you have to fight Darth Vader in full as Cere.
It’s easily the best boss fight in the game and will test your skills in the extreme. In the first phases you can bully Vader with hits that do damage, so stamina depletion isn’t your only options. The attack button hold move will help you to get in with a quick swipe and with good blocks and parries you can keep things moving in terms of his health bar.
AdvertisementIn the second phase, you’ll still do damage against him with every hit, so keep up the pressure and make the blocks, parries, evades and dodges count. His lunging red move is the toughest, and if you’ve got evade (pressing dodge without any directions) mastered then it’s a good options for a last minute avoidance.
However, it’s all about the final phase. If you can make it to this without using any of your stims then you’ll give yourself the best chance of defeating Vader. When he pulls you in, parry (or block if you don’t quite get the timing right) his opening swipes, but then be ready to evade or dodge the red attacks.
The parries will have brought down his stamina, so that when he finishes his combo you can add to the pressure with your own attacks. Lunge in with the attack button hold move and then unleash your own combo, but be ready for him to respond at any minute.
Do the same for his counter attack and that should be enough to deplete his stamina to get in some of your own attacks and bring down his health bar once more. Patience is the key to the fight and making your opportunities count. If he gets you there’s no chance trying to hold on to your stamina impact before he recharges, so just reset yourself and try again in the next phase.
AdvertisementHis combos can be long, so if you’re struggling to parry and evade them then your best bet is to just stay out of range and be ready with your lunge attack when he’s done. It’s easier to get at least a few parries to start things off, otherwise you might not have enough time to bring down his stamina to get your hits in.
He’s got a lot of different red attacks, so some will connect unless you’ve got the actual reflexes of a Jedi Knight. This means that you’ll need to keep an eye on your health and get some distance if you’re low to have enough time to call BD-1 for a stim. Don’t forget to dodge his Force projectile attack, though.
Another approach is to stay out of range with dodge and double dodge and nip in when he finishes his combos. If you can do this three times in a row then you’ll be able to deplete his stamina enough for your free hits.
The main point is that you won’t be able to do any damage whatsoever on Darth Vader in Star Wars Jedi Survivor during the 3rd phase unless you’ve taken down his stamina bar first. Either one of the two tactics above will help you do this more often and with the point about being patient you should be able to get there with enough health to survive in the very least.
AdvertisementYou can see these tactics in play in the video below, which should give you a good idea about how it can all play out without being perfect with your parries and evades. However, you can defeat him better if you use parries for standard attacks and evade whenever he goes red.
Another thing to try to add to your efforts is to do a double lunge move, back off a few spaces and hit him with some force. You’ll need a full stamina bar before you try this and then you can wait for another combo and be ready to land another lunge attack and follow up and you should do enough stamina damage to do it.
You won’t be able to do this every time, but it could be an options to get you closer to being able to defeat Darth Vader. It’s a bitter sweet victor in the end though, so don’t expect your sky fists to last too long before you remember that he’s still around in Star Wars Episodes IV-VI, so has to survive this one.
