Star Wars Jedi Survivor age rating certificate latest, UK release date, plot & gameplay

One of the biggest games of 2023 will be Star Wars Jedi Survivor, so here are all the details, including the age rating certificate latest, UK release date, plot and gameplay details. It’s the sleeper Star Wars action adventure hit that we’re expecting to land big as the sequel to 2019s Jedi Fallen Order.

Plot

Having narrowly escaped the clutches of Darth Vader in the first game, Jedi Knight Kal Kestis is just trying to stay alive under the onslaught of Order 66 and the oppression of the Galactic Empire. It picks up with him five years after he managed to destroy the Holocron containing details for Force Sensitive children, saving them from being discovered by the Inquisitors.

He’ll still have his faithful droid, BD-1, with him for help along the way, but it sound like its all going to be about Cal protecting those closest to him from the clutches of the Empire. As a result, he’s currently up there with Obi-Wan Kenobi on Vader’s most wanted list and he’s going to be doing everything he can to take the top spot.

The closing line of the trailer (below) should tell you everything you need to know about the Star Wars Jedi Survivor plot, “as long as we fight, hope survives”. Check out the gameplay section below to see all of the new fight mechanics and lightsaber options that have been added to the game.

Gameplay

Star Wars Jedi Survivor is a third person action adventure game and sequel to Fallen Order. As a Jedi Knight five years on from the last game, your skills are pretty advanced and you’ll need to use them in a variety of settings throughout the galaxy as you chip away at the foundations of the Evil Empire.

The big new Jedi force move that has been created for the game is a stasis effect, which will freeze enemies and their weapon fire in place. This means that you’ll be able to initiate the stasis from a Storm Trooper just after it fires its blaster and then first grab them to use them as a shield for the shot that they fired.

Obviously, there will be lots of ways to get creative with this and it’s bound to result in a raft of memes and funny videos after the release date. It’s a move that you will have seen Kylo Ren use in films like Star Wars The Force Awakens and it’s going to be a lot of fun experimenting with it.

The lightsaber options have also been boosted in Star Wars Jedi Survivor with duel wielding being added to single and double lightsaber attacks. The gameplay also introduces a Light Side of the Force equivalent to Kylo Ren’s lightsaber, complete with the hilt extensions, just in case you find a candle or two along the way.

You’ll have a host of well-known Star Wars enemies to fight throughout the game with everything from Battle Droids and Storm Troopers to massive Wampa, Inquisitors and Sith Lords. There’s a cool new support player tag move that you’ll be able to use, so it’s going to be interest to see how much scope there is for damage with this.

If that isn’t enough, there will also be mounts to ride around on and the details imply that there will be some big environments in Survivor to explore, so you’re probably going to need them. This includes both ground and air mounts, which you can see early on in the trailer below.

Star Wars Jedi Survivor UK release date

The official Star Wars Survivor UK release date has been confirmed for the 17th March 2023 and it’ll be out on the same day in North America too. This will be a few weeks after The Mandalorian Season 3 comes out on Disney Plus, so it’s going to be a big month for Star Wars fans.

It’s due to be a next generation release, so it’ll only be available on PS5, Xbox Series S | X, and PC platforms. That probably comes as a bit of a disappointment for anyone that played Fallen Order and you haven’t upgraded to a next gen system or have a high spec PC to continue the story on.

There will be a couple of options to choose from at release with a Deluxe version adding to the standard edition of the game. There are no details as of yet in terms of the differences between the versions, so we’ll update things here once they’ve been confirmed.

Star Wars Jedi Survivor age rating certificate

The Star Wars Jedi Survivor age rating certificate will be confirmed once we get a little close to the release date. However, we can take a lot from the classification of the previous game, Fallen Order.

In the UK it was given a PEGI rating of age 16 year and over, and in North America it was an ESRB rating of Teen, which means it’s for ages 13 years and over. We’re not really expecting that much in the way of deviation from these, but as with the edition details we’ll update you when we know more.
