Following 3 years of speculation, the wait is finally over and the third film from the new iteration of James Bond 007 has been named. At a recent press release (pictured left) Skyfall was announced with a little under a year to wait for its October 2012 release date.
Skyfall will be directed by Sam Mendes and Daniel Craig is inevitably returning in the shaken not stirred lead role. Judi Dench will also return as 007’s immediate superior, M, but the film will also see the addition of Javier Bardem to the cast as Bond’s main enemy.
Girls are always a big part of the success of James Bond films. Skyfall will introduce Naomie Harris as a field agent called Eve, a role that has been omitted from the previous 2 recent 007 films. It will also see the stunning Bérénice Marlohe take on the part of the main bind girl, Severine. In heels she’s a bit taller than Daniel Crag and Javier Bardem, and she’s got pretty curvy curves, so maybe she’ll end up giving both of them a hard time.
Filming will start straight away with locations to include London, Shanghai, Istanbul and a great castle in Scotland. It’s also been confirmed that Pinwood Studios will once again be used for some of the shooting. Rob Pervis, Neil Wade and John Logan have written the script for the film.
Other cast members include Ben Wishaw, Albert Finney and Ralph Fiennes, but their roles have not been confirmed in any way as of yet. Little was released about the plot of the film, however, what we know is that Quantum is not a part of Skyfall.
With just under a year to the release of the film, it’s going to be a frantic time with news and trailers being released at a frantic rate, but if nothing else, the name of the film sounds cool.
