Hot on the heels of their last big music video release for Wolf Girl, which racked up 50,000 You Tube hits, Simian Ghost have just announced the release of follow-up track, Automation. With pop sounds and a catchy chorus, the video follows the kind of outdoor party we’ve all been to many times.
Swedish Trio, Simian Ghost, released their second album earlier this year, and Automation is one of the stand-out tracks from the record. The release of the video gives the song a new dimension with a possible lyrical tie in with autumn happiness.
The video is a bit Blair Witch in that it was produced by a film team that followed a group of Swedish hipsters around for the. This gives it the feeling of being real and close to home, but with a slight hint of the alien that you can’t place until you find out that the video was shot in Sweden.
Simian Ghost’s Automation single is out on Monday (18th June 2012) on Heist Or Hit Records. Though the kids in the video are out in the cold, it’s actually got a lot of summertime about it that’s needed badly with all the rain and pigeon shit we’ve been getting recently.
