When Zooey Deschanel (Your Highness) isn’t getting kidnapped by depraved wizards or causing deep seated heartbreak to Jason Scott Levit, she also does a little singing in She and Him and this winter they’re putting out their first Christmas album, A Very She and Him Christmas. She and Him is made up of Deschanel and M. Ward.
Taking inspiration from classic Christmas albums from the likes of The Carpenters, The Beach Boys and Elvis Presley, the duo have put together collection of Christmas hits reworked with She and Him magic. Taking a stripped back approach to the songs, they’re laid out bare with Deschanel’s vocals and Ward’s guitar taking the focus. If you’ve never heard them before, here’s In the Sun as an intro:
Released on the 21st November 2011, A Very She and Him Christmas looks like the only album you’ll need for seasonal cheer this winter. Released on Double Six, it’ll be available CD, LP and digital download.
