If you’re looking to combine your Christmas giving and December gig plans, but didn’t manage to get in on the Teenage Cancer Trust gigs action, next Friday’s Christmas Tree Sessions are a good shout. With Guy Garvey teaming up with Mylene Class, the lucky git, the gig has got a big line-up to go with its even bigger heart.
Curated by Lauren Laverne, and set to light up the the Union Chapel, Islington, on the 14th December 2012 the Christmas Tree Sessions coincides with Save the Children’s Christmas Jumper Day, so the night also comes with the perfect opportunity to whip our your best winter warmer too.
The line-up for the sessions includes Spiritualized, as well as the Garvey-Class contingent, with Summer Camp, Band of Skulls and Kodaline on the bill too. Tickets are £40, plus booking fee, but for anyone that can’t make it you can also watch the whole night on Save the Children’s YouTube channel, www.youtube.com/user/savethechildrenuk/live. Just make sure to put in a small donation.
If you’re lucky enough to go to the Christmas Tree Sessions, you’ll be treated to some pretty impressive decorations, mulled wine, mince pies and an audience sing-a-long. However, the real reason for the night is to contribute to the No Child Born to Die campaign, which aims to provide the food and medicine to give the poorest children a better chance of survival.
Tickets are available at www.savethechildren.org.uk/christmas-tree-sessions and you’ll also find more info about the Christmas Tree Raffle and opportunities to donate or get involved in the No Child Born to Die campaig.
