When I was a kid Pilot Wings 64 was a big part of one of the best sunshine summers ever. It was up there with Starfox 64, and now Pilotwings Resort is about to return with what looks like the same old magic from before, only this time it’ll be in the palm of your hand with the Nintendo 3DS.
The other big leap forward is the fact that Pilotwings Resort is in auto stereoscopic 3D brilliance, so it immerses you into the amazing levels of Pilotwings’ flight simulation like never before. You’re also able to play your Mii characters in the game, so it feels like a walkabout extenuation of your Wii.
The game is set in Wuhu Island, a tropical paradise nestled in crisp blue waters, which you’re be able to soar around in either a glider, rocket belt or micro-plane.
There are a few different game selections including a free fly mode that lets you fly all over Wuhu Island like an aeronautical tourist, as well as a load of challenges to complete in Mission Mode. You can also take photos of the lush views that you have when you’re mid mission or just exploring the island.
Pilotwings Resort was released alongside the Nintendo 3DS on the 25th March 2011. While it doesn’t have as much depth as previous games, it looks a lot more impressive, even on a hand held.
You can order Pilotwings Resort from Play.com with free delivery.
