In case you’ve just done a double-take, yes the title did just say, Photobooth Festival premiers in London. Maybe it’ll be a tight squeeze, but there’ll be a lot of skin on skin action.
Bad jokes aside, the Photobooth Festival looks like it could be class. There’s going to be eight individually styled photobooths with unlimited use throughout the festival. With a camper van booth, disco booth, the world’s smallest photobooth; retro, pop-art and 3D photobooths, it should to be instamatastix.
There’s also the addition of Rough Trade DJ’s to bring the fun time music to the Photobooth Festival premier, along with face painting from Columbia Rd’s Powder Puff Girls, a non-stop BBQ and drinks a plenty.
The Photobooth Festival clicks off on the 21st July at 7 Ezra Street, London, E2 7RH. Doors open at 10am on the Saturday with the festival going on throughout the day until 8pm. Tickets are £10 each and can be bought at https://t.ymlp323.net/uymbazajjhqavabhaxausumj/click.php. There’s also a family ticket option for £25, which includes two adult tickets and two under 13 year old tickets.
Expect to come away with enough shots to fill a dozen passports. Just make sure you pull some better faces than the guy in the promo shots to the right. Good effort with the Thunder-Cats kit though!
The festival is the creation of The Republic of Photography, which has worked hard to hand craft the bespoke photobooths.
