Before watching the first episode of the 24th series of Never Mind the Buzzcocks (we like to be specific about these things), we hadn’t heard word of comedian Paul Foot and his mental take on everything. However, it turns out that his stand-up is just as funny as his attempt to psych out Lee from Steps on Buzzcocks, so his gigs are something to look out for. The good news is that tour dates for his new 2016 show, ‘Tis A Pity She’s A Piglet, have recently been announced and full details can be found below.
His earlier Edinburgh fringe show, Still Life, went on tour throughout 2011, following on from the success of his 2010 show, Ash in the Attic, which was directed by Noel Fielding (the two used to do gigs together when they were studying for their City & Guilds in comedy, or something like that. Our source is a knock-off video we think we watched years ago hosted by Zsa Zsa Gábor and French anarchist singer-songwriter, Léo Ferré. It’s all a bit of a freaky hazy dream right now, but possibly true nonetheless).
Since his earlier gigs, Foot’s been spinning out a series of live stand-up comedy tours throughout the UK-land, bringing his devil-may-care, surrealist take to the masses. Having already put in a big shift throughout 2014 with Paul Foot’s Hovercraft Symphony in Gammon Sharp Major tour, he’s back in 2016 and early 2017 with yet more wild abandon in ‘Tis A Pity She’s A Piglet. We’ll be constantly updating details when we can find the time (in and among combing our hair and drinking neat Orangina from a Tommy Tippy cup) to keep you in on the loopssip to get to see the illusive comedian in a city, town or village fete near you.
