Moving up to the big leagues on BBC1, Miranda Series 3 is about to make Miranda Hart even larger than life as she returns to TV this Christmas. Having taken a two year break from the series, she’s back with an all star line-up, more tongue in cheek comedy and enough slapstick to make Charlie Chaplin jealous.
The third series started on BBC1 on Wednesday 26th December 2012 (AKA Boxing Day – Bust a rhyme!) moving up from its previous BBC2 location. It airs at 9pm, but will be available on iPlayer for a little while afterwards if you were too busy doing a wintery jigsaw with your nan, sleeping off the Christmas chub or visiting the girlfriend with gifts of Anne Summers lingerie, a bottle of Champagne and a game of Twister (and who could blame you).
The new series hasretained the filming in front of a live studio audience, so there’s bound to be a lot more of Miranda’s audience monologues of mentalness to look forward to. Once again, the show has been written by Miranda herself and it gives the gents (and fairer skinned lady lovers) more opportunities to renew their guilty pleasure of being a bit keen on Miranda (you know who you are!).
The show includes all of the original cast, despite the rumours that Tom Ellis might be leaving the show. It’s also been confirmed that there’ll be a few celebrity cameos, including Gary Barlow, Raymond Blanc (Kitchen Secrets) and Emma Kennedy. There’s also two new regular characters too look froward to.
With the success of Miranda Series 2, the third installment of six episodes will see us into the New Year nicely in its Wednesdays at 9pm timeslot. It picks up on the storyline from the end of the second series in which Miranda and Gary agreed to be just good friends, but will the new series see them finally get it on in a bout of unbridled passion (which is a weird term that hints at equestrian love origins).
