Over the course of her career in fashion, Kate Moss has been frequently stylish, but occasionally trashy and this is perhaps the best way I can sum up her final Topshop collection. With over 120 items available on the Topshop online store ranging from dresses, shorts & jewellery, Autumn / Winter 2010 could her biggest range to-date.
The stand out pieces can mostly be found in the Limited Edition items, which include the iconic fringed minidress, an ace embellished black cape dress and very cool paisley poncho. However, the Kate Moss collection goes a bit wrong every now and again with velvet and lace shorts that look a bit too much like cut off velour tracksuit bottoms and a £180 chain-mail vest dress that looks like it was designed for the red light district.
Inspired by the 70s and flashing Kate’s affinity with bohemian styles, the collection looks like it has been painstakingly put together with a real eye for detail. However, maybe Noel Fielding might have had an influence on it along the way. There’s more cool capes than any wayward tramp might need.
Kate Moss’ 14th collection with Topshop (2010) is a flurry of 70s style that looks more contemporary than dated with chiffon and silk, hoods and capes and a little trash for luck. While Kate Moss has lost a little of her sheen in recent years with her time with Pete Doherty, the bad pics in rag mags and the recent tell-all in Russell Brand’s My Book Wook 2, in her final collection she’s got just enough class to shine.
