You probably don’t need more reasons to get either the Joker Blu-ray or 4K UHD version with the excellence of the film, but here’s a rundown of all of the special features and bonus content that is being bundled with the film release. Joaquin Phoenix has delivered a phenomenal performance as struggling clown and stand-up comedian Arthur Flack and you can see in the details below that Warner Bros has focused on the character portrayal in every one of the extras.
It looks like he’s going to pick up an Oscar nomination for Best Actor in the very least, but again that’s sort of an aside in terms of the home entertainment release, because this is a film that stands on its own terms. The awards it looks likely to pick up and the special features that come with it won’t really change much in terms of the success of the Blu-ray and 4K Ultra HD release.

Hopefully, each of them will be fairly chunky and provide good insight into the the development of the character and the delivery behind the scenes.
Special Features and Bonus Content:
- Joker: Vision & Fury – looking at the initial conceptualisation of the film.
- Becoming Joker – take a look at how Joaquin Phoenix transformed into the anti-hero/villain of the film. It may not be a transition from his rapping days, but it’s still an incredible feat of role preparation.
- Please Welcome… Joker! – Joaquin Phoenix’s delivery during filming, taking the preparation to the next level of character dedication.
- Joker: A Chronicle of Chaos – how the story of Arthur Flack unfolds throughout the movie.
Details for the digital extras won’t be confirmed by iTunes and Amazon for the UK until we get much closer to the release date, so we’ll update you with the details as soon as they’re available. However, the worst news is that the DVD release in the UK doesn’t appear as though it will be getting any of the special features, so if you want to watch the bonus content above then you’ll need to go for the Blu-ray or the 4K version.

US DVD special edition special features
While the UK DVD doesn’t come with any special features, the special edition Joker DVD our in the States will get all four of the extras above. The Blu-ray in the US also comes as a DVD bundle, but only the Blu-ray disk contains the bonus content.
