Keanu Reeves somehow manages to get cooler the older he gets and the arrival of John Wick Chapter 3 – Parabellum added to a big year for the Hollywood star, so the DVD, Blu-ray and digital release date (details below) is going to be one of the most anticipated action films of 2019. He also made a surprise appearance at E3 to announce Cyberpunk 2077, his first triple A game, which gives the latest John Wick film even more presence for Xbox ONE and PS4 fans to go alongside the usual iTunes and Amazon digital downloads.
The series of films have been the surprise hit of the decade following on from the breakaway success of John Wick, which had its release back in 2014. To have three big films in a series in the space of five years is impressive enough and with very positive reviews for the third entry, it’s managed to keep the action going strong throughout.
It was all poised on a knife edge at the end of JW2, where John killed Santino inside the Continental Hotel New York, forcing Winston to excommunicate him with a huge global bounty on his head. It sets things up perfectly for an epic threequal, so for fans of the series or anyone that missed it on the big screen the DVD, Blu-ray, rental and digital release is going to be a whole lot of fun, especially for anyone opting for 4K Uktra HD to see the crunching John Wick moves in turbo detail.
It’s going to be interesting to see how he manages to get out of the situation without the customary hospitality of the Continental Hotel. John has always been pretty resourceful in the past, but then he’s never really faced so much all-encompassing opposition. It’s clearly going to be relentless from start to end for the “retired” hitman and the body count is going to be through the roof.

The John Wick Chapter 3 – Parabellum DVD and Blu-ray release date has been confirmed for the 16th September 2019, so it’s going to make for a hard-hitting finale to the summer. We’re expecting this to be big on 4K Ultra HD with so much fast-paced and perfectly executed action built into the fabric of the films.
Digital release on iTunes and Amazon Digital will be the first place to be able to buy the film with a date confirmed for the 7th September 2019. It’ll then be available on Xbox ONE, PS4 and rental on the same date as on DVD and Blu-ray, completing the roster for home entertainment.
John Wick 3 has a chunky 2:11 run time and the download size will be 5.1Gb at 1080p HD, but just 2.1Gb of storage space in standard definition. If you need more space for your PC, Mac, PS4 or Xbox ONE ahead of the home entertainment release you might want to check out a external hard drives.
UK cinema release
John Wick 3 had a UK cinema release date of Wednesday the 17th May 2019. It continued the huge success of the series with good strong performances in US and the UK box offices, building on the strength of its reviews. There wasn’t anything significant out on the same weekend, but it followed Pokémon Detective Pikachu a week earlier and then Aladdin live action came out the a week later. However, neither were in the same viewing catchment, so they had little impact on JW3’s performance on the big screen.

John Wick Chapter 3 – Parabellum age rating
The cinema, DVD, Blu-ray and digital release for John Wick 3 has been given an age rating of 15 from the British Board of Film Classification in the UK, which continues the trend for the film series since the 2014 debut. There’s a lot of brutal action and the shootouts leave a swath of bodies, so it’s a surprise that they manage to duck below the 18 rating, but then there isn’t much in the way of bad language, drugs, sex or gore.
