Fantastic Beasts The Secrets of Dumbledore age rating, parents guide and UK release date latest

Fantastic Beasts The Secrets of Dumbledore age rating, parents guide and UK release date

It’s time to get excited about magic once again, but we’re not talking about Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, this time it’s the other lengthily titled movie of 2022, Fantastic Beasts The Secrets of Dumbledore, so here’s the latest on the age rating and parents guide. You can also find out more about the UK release date, story and cast, as well as our estimate for the runtime to give you everything we know about the third film in the series.

This time around, Newt Salamander teams up with Dumbledore once again to tackle the growing might of Gellert Grindelwald with a plan that Aldus concocts to take the fight to the dark wizard. Grindelwald has spent the intervening time since the events of Fantastic Beasts 2 amassing an army to fight for his cause to creat a new magical world order, so Newt and the gang must go behind enemy lines to investigate.

Obviously there are going to be some fantabulous creatures in the mix as ever and it looks like a lot of the story is set in Hogwarts, so it should act as the back story setup for Dumbledore’s later Harry Potter battles with Lord Voldemort. You can also see in the trailer that it looks like he’s actually going to be rolling his sleeves up and warming up his own wand for the battle that’s coming.

Cast

Eddie Redmayne (My Week With Marilyn, The Aeronauts) is back in the Fantastic Beasts cast as Newt Scamander, along with Jude Law (Captain Marvel) as Aldus Dumbledore, Dan Fogler (Kung Fu Panda, Free Birds) as Jacob Kawolski, Katherine Waterston (Alien Covenant) as Tina Goldstein, Alison Sudol as her sister Queenie, Callum Turner (Assassin’s Creed) as Theseus Scamander (Newt’s older brother) and Ezra Miller (Justice Leage) as Credence Barebone. Mads Mikkelson (Doctor Strange) joins the cast as the new Gellert Grindelwald, replacing Johnny Depp.

Fantastic Beasts The Secrets of Dumbledore UK release date

With the recent arrival of the trailer, the Fantastic Beasts The Secrets of Dumbledore UK release date has been slated for the 8th April 2022. It will then come out in North America a week later on the 15th, so if you’re based in the US you’ll probably have to duck a few online story details between the two dates if you don’t want to find out what happens.

At the moment it’s got a relatively clear window at the box office without any other films due out on the same weekend, but there’s still time for more films to be announced. The closest release is Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, which is due out on the 6th May 2022, but that’s too far away to have much of an impact on Fantastic Beasts 3.

The film is due out in time for the Easter holidays, which is usually a good period for cinema sales, so there are bound to be more films for it to compete with as we get close to the release date. However, The Secrets of Dumbledore will still be the favourite to take the numeber one spot at the box office with the success of the previous films and the popularity of the Wizarding World.

Age rating and parents guide

The British Board of Film Classification (BBFC) won’t put out the official Fantastic Beasts The Secrets of Dumbledore age rating for the UK until much closer to the release date, but there’s a lot that we can extrapolate from the first two films. Both of them picked up a 12 certification, so it’ll be a surprise if the third film gets anything other than that.

The trailer looks like it’ll follow the same themes and style of film as the first two, so if you’ve already seen either of them then you should have a good idea about what to expect from 3. The Wizarding World can be a dark place and that looks like it’ll be the case again, but then there’s also a lot of optimistic intentions and magic to counterbalance this with thematic similarities to the Star Wars series.

In terms of a parents guide, the biggest consideration will be the threat elements with Gellert Grindelwald about to unleash a magical war on the No Maj world. You can see in the trailer below that there are going to be a number of scary looking monsters in the mix, but with the previous 12 age rating for the likes of Fantastic Beasts The Crimes of Grindelwald it’s sort of to be expected.

We’ll update you with more details on the age rating for the film in our parents guide section as they get confirmed. You can also check out our movie news section to keep tabs on other upcoming movies, or visit the official movie website at www.fantasticbeasts.com/.

Fantastic Beast The Secrets of Dumbledore runtime

As with the age rating, the runtime for the Fantastic Beasts The Secrets of Dumbeldore won’t be announced until we get a little closer to the release date, but The Crimes of Grindelwald clocked in at 2 hours and 14 minutes. The 3rd film should be around the same length.
