Starting on the 5th October and running through until the 20th, the Brighton Comedy Festival 2012 is, to quote Disney’s 1995 family favourite, Pocahontas, just around the river bend, so here’s a quick run down of what’s happening and who’s doing what with whom. With a new live-in partner, Dave (the comedy channel, not Cameron… or Walliams), this year’s comedy festival is set to bring witty banter to the most experimental seaside resort this side of Thailand.
The line-up looks immense and starts off with the annual Gala opening night hosted by Alan Carr at the Brighton Dome. Carr will have fag hag Jo Brand to add comedy muscle to the show, as well as Sean Walsh and Simon Evans to round off the intelligence quota. Kicking things off on the 5th, tickets for the Gala are now on sale for £25 from https://www.brightoncomedyfestival.com/
The 16 day comedy festival also takes in the breadth and depth of Andy Osho, Carl Donnelly, Dara O’Briain, David O’Doherty, the man mountain behemoth that is Greg “no old lady” Davies, Jack Dee, Jason Byrne, Jon Richardson, Josh Widdicombe, Mark Watson, Nick Helm, Richard Herring, Ross Noble, Alexie ruddy Sayle!, Russell Kane, Seann Walsh, Shappi Khorsandi, and Sidekick Simon (AKA Tim Key or Steve Coogan’s fluffer).
