If you’re a Bob’s Burgers fan or you love TV animated comedies like The Simpsons or King of the Hill then get excited because Bob’s will be back on British television shortly with the 3rd series currently airing in the States. With previous series airing on E4 approximately a year following its US release, which happened on the 30th September 2012, so the expectation is that Bob’s Burgers Series 3 should be heading our way in Autumn.
All of the voices behind the characters have returned to their posts for the third series, so H. Jon Benjamin, Dan Mintz, Eugene Mirman, John Roberts, Kristen Schaal (Flight of the Concords) and Larry Murphy will be back as Bob, Tina, Gene, Linda and Louise Belcher, as well as their friend and burger lover Teddy, will be back and badder than ever. There’s also a number of special guest star appearances to look out for, including Kevin Klein (who’s sort of a regular as Mr. Fischoeder), Zach Galifianakis (Due Date) and Aziz Anzari (Parks and Recreation).
The big shift this time round is that Series 3 will feature a massive 23 episodes, compared to 13 in the first series and just 9 in the second. The series kicks off in episode 1, Ear-sy Rider, which combines plots around Louise’s bunny early being stolen and Bib getting embroiled in the mayhem of biker gang life.
The rest of Series 3 includes a Halloween episode, a return of Micky the bank robber, a mechanical shark, insurance fraud and Gene’s first serious relationship going down the pan. There’s also a re-imagining of the classic 1980s film, Mannequin, as well as leg shaving lessons from Bob, a nude beach, a mad pooper, Valentine’s Day canoodling, a new job for Linda, an E.T. parody, more mental relationship issues with Tina, a trip to Florida, game show competitions, the introduction of a casino business by the Belcher kids, boy bands, a museum trip and espresso addictions.
All told they’re packing a lot into Bob’s Burgers Series 3, so it should be another genius series from Fox. There’s no date on a UK air date on E4, but it can’t be too much longer before its made official with the final episode going out in the States on the 12th May 2013.
If you’ve never seen the show before, they’re available to download from iTunes. Visit, https://www.tuppencemagazine.co.uk/bobs-burgers-series-2/, for more details.
