Bill’s restaurant on the corner of the Wyndham Arcade in Cardiff is easy to fall for. It’s one of Cardiff’s new wave of great restaurants that have appeared as if by magic as the city continues its ongoing transformation.
Part of a small and select chain of 14 restaurants in the UK, Bill’s Cardiff feels original and very different from other restaurants in the centre of the city, making it a bit of a stand out choice. It’s got some great seating outside and much more space inside than you might imagine with the cozy chic rustic feel.
The service is of a good quality with everyone putting in a fair bit of effort into making your meal great. They’ve got good timing too, turning up with your food and drinks at just the right time, which is often a rarity.
The food itself is excellent, especially the impressive specials that change regularly. If you’re lucky enough to find the grilled sea bass with salsa verde, it’s one of their best dishes and goes amazingly with a glass of their Elki Pedro Ximenez white wine.
The burgers, moules frites, tuna salad nicoise, pan-fried salmon with beetroot tortellini and the pumpkin and goats cheese risotto can also be banked on to be consistently brilliant. It’s not just their main meals though that impress – the pumpkin creme brûlée and lemon meringue pie cheesecakes are also firm favourites for a good meal out in Cardiff.
You can also pick up a few treats to take home with you with the little shop that’s next to the till. Here you can find all sorts of delicacies, including jams, chutneys, different flavoured cordials and balsamic vinegar & olive oil, as well as the Bill’s cook book.
It’s a cool new addition to the restaurants in Cardiff, adding to what’s becoming an impressive mix. Can’t wait to go again! Check out the location map below to hunt down Bill’s restaurant in Cardiff for yourself and make sure you come back and leave a comment to let us know what you think.
