With Baxter Dury’s third album, Happy Soup, picking up pretty good critical acclaim from the music press and his father’s Ian Dury and the Blockheads fame, you would have expected a bit more media noise for the release. However, it’s all been a little quiet, but there are a couple of gigs coming up to listen to the sparse, modern, eclectic pop live for yourself.
Baxter Dury gigs:
Fri 13th Jul 2012 – Vintage Festival, UK
Sat 14th Jul 2012 – Latitude Festival, UK
Sun 15th Jul 2012 – Dour Festival, Belgium
Fri 20th Jul 2012 – Vielles Charrues, France
Sat 21st Jul 2012 – Secret Garden Party, UK
Fri 3rd Aug 2012 – Les Nuits Secretes, France
Sun 5th Aug 2012 – OFF Festival 2012, Poland
Fri 10th Aug 2012 – Panteiro Festival, France

Hopefully, Baxter will be announcing a few more gigs for 2013 too. Combining Dury’s cockney drawl with Madelaine Hart’s resonate backing vocals, Happy Soup deserves all the noise it can get.
