It’s been a mental 25 years since Back to the Future first hit the screens, and while we still don’t have hoverboards, flying cars or time machines, we do have trainers that can lace themselves on the way, as well as a brand spanking new Back to the Future game coming to the PC, Mac, Sony PS3 and iPad.
Whilst the films are too pristine for a sequel ever to be needed, the story will go on in the upcoming game, picking up just after the end of Back to the Future 3. The games takes Marty McFly on another time travelling adventure to save the Doc, who is in trouble again in either the past or the future.
Christopher Lloyd is back as Doc Emmet Brown and the original writer, Bob Gale, has been heavily involved int he creation of the game. While Michael J Fox was unavailable to continue the voice of Marty McFly, the voice in the game sounds fairly close to the real thing.
Back to the Future The Game is already available to download for PC and Mac from Tell Tale Games, who were also the genius behind Monkey Island and Sam & Max. Plus it will be released early in 2011 for both the PS3 and the iPad. Where we’re going, you don’t need roads.
