With Joe Cornish busy being an international megalomaniac and his massively successful movie career, writing for The Adventures of Tintin Secret of the Unicorn and Attack the Block, Adam Buxton and the Black Squadron have been left to languish like a fury Yoda on the swamp planet of Dagoba. But with the news that Adam is about to start up a seven week intimate session with Edith Bowman on BBC 6 Music, both he and the remains of the Black Squadron will rise like wild-eyed Hawmen.
The special seven week Adam and Edith show will air on Saturday mornings, starting on the 17th November 2012 between 10am and 1pm. Running up until Christmas the show promises lots of music, more than a few laughs, caller chat and, more than likely, a certain amount of awkword secsualll chemistry (we realise that they’re both espoused, but look at them! They’re made for eachother).
It’s not just Adam that’s been jilted by a previous radio partnership of gold. Colin and Edith, back in the day, was one of the best radio teams around, but when Colin Murray went on to be the sporting big-time hot shot he is now, Edith was left on the shelf too. Luckily, Adam Buxton is going to sweep in like the white knight that he is and salve her with his DJ smooth balm in the new show.
The new show adds to Edith’s review show on BBC Radio 1, which airs on Tuesdays between 9 and 10 in the pm. Buxton, on the other hand, hasn’t been seen or heard of since his recent Big Fat Quiz of the 80s win with Jonathan Ross.
Speaking on the BBC website, Adam Buxton said that BBC 6 Music let him back in the game for a few weeks and that he was pretty excited about prospect of getting to work with the Bowmanater.
