The Glamour of Italian Fashion Exhibition at the V&A Museum

The Glamour of Italian Fashion exhibition at the V&AThe V&A Museum will be putting on another fashionably focused installation later in 2014 and this time around it’s the stand-out design and luxurious quality of Italian fashion houses that take the centre stage. The Glamour of Italian Fashion Exhibition is set to take a long hard look at some of the Azzurri’s most amazing fashion designs and designers from the end of the Second World War to the present day.

Opening at the Victoria and Albert Museum on the 5th of April 2014 and running through until the 27th July 2014, the exhibition is set to be one of the spring and early summer museum calendar must-see installations for fashionistas and design geeks everywhere. With a definitive statement of intent around the intrinsic nature of glamour within Italian fashion, it’s going to be a visually stunningly impressive display.

The evolution of Italian Fashion from the dark days of WWII to its current iconic status is going to be displayed through the work of formative individuals and organisations that have been critical to its success. However, it’s not just going to be a series of glamorous dresses, although that would be impressive enough, as it features both a variety of women’ clothing and menswear.

In the region of ninety outfits, including fashion accessories will be on display at The Glamour of Italian Fashion Exhibition bringing together items from the last seventy years. Now global brands like Valentino, Gucci, Armani, Dolce & Gabbana, Versace and Prada will all have designs on display along with lesser known couture fashion houses like Simonetta, Missoni, Sorelle Fontana and Pucci. There will also be a number of outfits from modern-day shining lights in Italian fashion design.
